Thanksgiving comes a bit earlier here in Greenland. I guess stuff just has to be harvested that much earlier in the Arctic. haha
Storm took the day off to do a lot of cooking. He first made a couple pizzas at lunch and then he went crazy cooking thanksgiving dinner. First and most impressively, he made 9 pies (8 pumpkin and 1 pecan). We had a giant can of pumpkins, thus the reason he made so much. He also made a super delicious 20 lb turkey. For sides he made stuffing, green bean casserole, an apple-walnut salad (called a waldorf salad), cranberry-orange dish, carrots in honey and brown sugar, sweet potato, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls, chocolate chip cookies, icecream, mixed veggies, and probably something else i'm forgetting. He brought out a box of boxed-wine. Elissa also took some of the less fancy whisky Matt had brought us and made a really tasty irish cream drink (like baileys). After the dinner, since we were all too full to do much, we watched Frozen, which is quite appropriate for here.
During the dinner, in an attempt to make it feel more like Thanksgiving, Storm decided to give us all special characters and rolls to play. Nate was the grumpy Patriarch; Elissa was the hardliner conservative Christian; Storm was the son coming out to the family for the first time; and Marie was the daughter dropping out of college to pursue writing a novel. I had a dumb one. I was someone who just converted to being a vegetarian and was to be disgusted by everyone eating turkey. Of course this was hard for me to play considering I ate too big drumsticks (caveman style). I would have rather made it feel more like Thanksgiving by watching football and playing touch football.
Storm's little activity made me remember this hilarious SNL skit about Thanksgiving and Adele

Marie made corn chowder, some broccoli, and some sort of orange sweet bread for dessert.
