Guyser Glacier Elopement

7/10/17

"let's get married before the glaciers are gone" he said
"okay!" she said
Guy-Kayser Elopement. 7/10/17 Reynolds Mountain summit ridge, Glacier National Park, Montana, 7,516 ft a.s.l.

Believe it or not, Elisha and I got married in Glacier National Park this summer. It was a last minute thing, with just 10 days between engagement and wedding. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding up on a mountain ridge above Logan Pass. My buddy Lucas presided over the wedding, and he did an absolute amazing job. We did a unique wedding feature, where we put snow together to build a snowball (a unity snowball, we called it), and then we threw it off in the cliff.

We wanted it to be a small wedding, and so only our close family (our parents and Elisha's brothers) and the bridal party (3 friends each) came.  We had the pre-wedding dinner at Aunt Lesley's house in Kalispell. A yummy bbq. And then the wedding dinner was on the shores of Lake McDonald, where we had ribs and other bbq items.

Elisha and I spent our first night as a married couple at the Hidden moose lodge in Whitefish, and then spent 3 more days in East Glacier. We did some great hikes including the Dawson-Pitamakin loop and Cracker Lake.
