I spent about a week in Estes. Nate picked me up from the
airport and we bro’d out my first night, with chips, beer, and pizza. I did a
lot of packing for upcoming trips and moving to Montana. I also took my
Wilderness First Responder Course in Golden and stayed with cousin Kendra
during it. After the week, I flew up to Spokane with a 4.5 hour layover in
Boise to hang out with Chris and Emily. During this time Elisha was visiting
her friend Heather in Mazatlan, México.

I’ve been in Montana a couple of weeks now. Schweitzer
Resort had an amazing $99 ski pass deal for skiing the months of March and
April. So we’ve been taking advantage of that. Had some good powder days and
some good sunny and warm Spring Skiing days.
I visited my brother for 4 days in Whitefish. We skied the
first day a bit in the slack country of the resort and then went out for dinner
with the Bestwicks. The next 2 days we skied some big stuff in Glacier. The
first day we skied down from the summit of My Nyak twice, which had some really
nice snow. The next day we skied down some pretty big and gnarly terrain off of
the top of Mount Brown and then skied some amazing pow pow off of the peak next
to it (Edwards?). The last day with my brother it was bad weather so we just
chilled and watched a movie and went bowling before I drove back to Heron and
then onto Spokane where I picked Elisha up at 2am from her flight from Mexico.
It had snowed pretty good, so I hit the slopes the next day for a powder day.
Elisha’s grandma is visiting, so we’ve been hanging out with
her in-between ski days. We’ve also been prepping and organizing for our next
big trip and for getting PQ’d for Antarctica for next year.
