12/30/18
I took the morning as some R&R/sick time to watch the UF
vs Michigan game that stated at 6am our time. Gators won big, so it was fun. It
was a super beautiful day (absolutely no wind), so we hiked up to Castle Rock
since Elisha hadn’t been up there yet this year.
12/31/18
After brunch we went for a hike up and over Ob Hill, then we
spent most of the afternoon hanging out with Nate and Mitch and his roommate
K-dub (my boss’s little brother who I befriended at Summit Station). So that
was good times. Eventually, we costumed up and headed out to the festivities of
IceStock. There was the chili cookoff and burgers and brats to eat. Then it was
band after band until the midnight countdown. I think this year the bands
weren’t as god (for dancing), so it wasn’t quite as fun, but Mitch finally
smooched a girl he had been interested in, so that was exciting. The DJ after
the stroke of midnight was more exciting, so that’s when the crowd really got
into the fun dancing.
1/1/19 Happy New
Year!!
They did a brunch theme of Hawaiian Luau for our normal
brunch, and it might be my favorite McM meal of the year (considering what
happened with the crab/lobster on Christmas Eve). They had fresh fruit, whole
suckling pig (so tasty), seared Ahi Tuna, and a Hawaiian egg dish with meat and
rice. All very yummy! I definitely ate a lot of pulled pork and Ahi tuna.
